Objective
To design an iPhone or iPad application that communicates an intended message to the viewer. It must engage with the audience, provides information, and convinces the viewer to seriously consider your point of view. In addition to designing an application, a poster must be created and designed that contains a combination of type and image. The topic of both the poster and the application is either social, political, or environmental issues.
Context
To a shark, their fins are essential to them as breathing is for humans. Without their fins to allow them to keep on swimming, the shark will die. Shark finning is an inhumane act done in to get shark fins. Fishermen would cut off the fins of a shark and dispose of the body back into the ocean while the animal is still alive. The shark would either die of blood loss or drown. The shark finning industry is and continues to be a multi-million-dollar industry and is second to the illegal drug trade. Over 100 million sharks are killed every year to continue to fund this industry. While there are regulations made between and within each country, the trade still continues.

Personas and Empathy Maps
Personas and empathy maps were made to get a better understanding of the app's target audience. Since the target demographic were college-age students, each persona and empathy map were created with that in mind and has the possible goals and frustrations they would have with the content of the app itself and the app interface.
High-Fidelity
Poster
In addition to the app, a poster was made to help promote the issue and the app itself. A simpler and straight forward style and design was chosen to make the message clear and straight to the point. Additionally, minimal text was used on the poster to also make the message simple and clear. The final poster chosen to promote the app at the end was the poster on the left.
